Catheters for Females

Women’s Catheters

Many women of all ages need catheter supplies to address urinary incontinence or urinary retention. There are many types of catheters for females to suit women in all stages of life. We, along with our manufacturer partners, believe that needing to use female catheters should never hold women back from doing the things they love. We provide free samples of catheter supplies for you to try until you find the perfect catheter to suit your lifestyle.

Finding the Right Urinary Catheter Types and Sizes

There are many types of catheters for females ranging from the most convenient to the most discreet. The type you need will depend on how mobile you are, if you are able to self-catheterize, and if you have a history of UTIs.

The average size of a women's catheter is 10-14 French sizes in diameter and 6-8 inches long. Your doctor will help you find the right fit, and Strive Medical offers free samples from our manufacturers to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the catheter you choose.

Female Catheter Types

Make sure you understand the different female catheter types and sizes
so you can get the best female catheter for your needs.

Foley/Indwelling Catheter

If you choose to get an indwelling catheter for urinary incontinence, your doctor will place it in your urethra for up to a month. The tube will attach to a leg bag or a larger drainage bag.

These are disposable female catheters that you will use 4-6 times a day to completely empty your bladder. Follow all instructions from your doctor and make sure to keep a proper cleanliness routine.

Closed System Kits

Closed system catheter kits have everything you need for catheterization packaged in a sterile environment to help reduce your risk of UTIs.

Pocket Catheters

Pocket catheters are designed to be discreet and convenient. They will likely be pre-lubricated so there’s less prep, and they are often made to look like cosmetic items, such as the Cure Twist® from Convatec.
